Our kiddos will be 9 weeks tomorrow. The are now each about 1" long and weigh just a fraction of an ounce each. Their heart is finishing dividing and their teeth are starting to form. Their eyes are fully formed but the eyelids won't open until 27 weeks.
They are definitely kicking their moms' butt. I never knew how important nap time would be for ME! I'm still feeling sick and get physically ill a few times a week... thankfully it's not more than that. I've been a picky eater, wanting something different every day and still not really wanting veggies which I know I need. I'm trying to pull back from the carbs a little, as it's what my body has been craving the most, but I think I'm taking in way too many. Working full days has been hard, but I'm trying as best I can to get rest and take it easy. I took off today. We had a pipe burst in the basement so I took it as a day to stay home and rest while my dad fixed it.
I have my first prenatal yoga class tonight!

8 Weeks Today
LJ and CJ are now the size of kidney or pinto beans. They are developing fingers and toes. Their lungs are developing and the nerve cells in their brains are branching out and connecting forming primitive neural pathways. Their eyelids are almost fully developed. Their tiny hearts are beginning to separate into four chambers.

I'm now at the stage where I need to unbutton my pants to be comfortable. It's a little early to really be showing... I assume it's mostly bloat and perhaps a little bit of baby belly. From what I hear, with twins, my baby belly may show as early as 9 weeks.
I'm still feeling sick but have been vomit free since Friday which is fantastic! I saw my acupuncturist last night and hope that it helps me. I've been listening to my body as best I can and resting as needed which is ALL THE TIME! I slept the entire weekend! I'm also tiring of all the eating I've been doing. I need to keep my stomach from feeling empty to avoid the nausea. As a result I sit at my desk and eat all day! Crackers, honey nut cheerios, apples, bananas, dry toast and graham crackers. My wheat-free diet has gone out the window!
I always looked down on the women who complained about pregnancy because they were so lucky to actually be pregnant. I mean what right did they have to complain when so many of us couldn't get pregnant? Now that I'm pregnant and going through this first trimester, I regret ever feeling that way towards anyone. It's hard. It's totally worth it and I'm so happy to be pregnant, but that doesn't mean it's easy!

Two little miracles!
This is our ultrasound from Friday. What looks like the babies heads is actually the yolk sacs which they are feeding off of. They are in the tiny area next to it.
I'm 7 weeks today and our lil' ones are about the size of raspberries.
Morning sickness seems like it's more of an evening sickness for me. I feel "off" all day and then have been getting physically ill in the evening... only a few times so far, let's hope it stays that way!
We have our first OB/GYN appt. set up for Friday, April 18th. Hopefully we'll get to see our babies again then and see how much they've grown.

Two Beautiful Babies with Strong Heartbearts!
We saw our twins heartbeats on Friday. It was truly amazing. I was called back by myself so that the nurse could get the babies measurements, etc. She asked if I wanted to know before Christian came back and I said no. It was very hard to lie there not knowing!
Christian came back and she turned the screen to show us our 2 amazing little ones! We could see the yolk sacs for both and the heartbeats. We were even able to hear them this early. That is something you never forget! We squeezed each others hands so hard and smiled from ear to ear.
As for the possible third, she still saw a little spot there, but there was no sac, heartbeat, etc. so it is most likely a cyst or something else, but definitely not a third baby.
We are so happy to be expecting twins. It's still all very surreal. Last night for my birthday we went out and bought me a Snoogle Pregnancy Pillow and a Pregnancy Journal. It was wonderful to be walking around Babies R Us as expectant parents.
I will post the ultrasound pictures soon.
I'm 35 today! UGH!

Telling Christian the news...
I went home early on our beta day to get our news. I was home around 2pm and checked my message when I got home. After my hour of tears and disbelief, I calmed myself down and headed to CVS. Christian was coming home around 6pm and we made a pact that we would not talk via phone because I didn't want him to know anything before he got home.
I picked up a pregnancy test. Yes, I already knew I was pregnant, but to see "pregnant" pop up on a pregnancy test after 27 months of negatives is priceless!

Then, I went upstairs and got the quote balloon that I had made the first month we started trying. When you first start out, you always assume it'll work the first time!
Then I made and printed out a banner that said "Daddy, I/We Can't Wait to Meet You... Love, Lil' LJ(s). It was plural because I knew from our betas number that multiples was a very high probability.
When he came through the door, I was crying and he got worried and went to hug me and I held up one finger and then two and I shook my head yes. Then he looked past me and saw the banner and was full of emotion. He laughed and cried for what seemed like an hour. We'll never forget how we felt on that day.

5 weeks 5 days pregnant
How amazing! These lil' guys are definitely making themselves known. I am hungry alot! The nurse made it clear that if I'm hungry, my babies are hungry, so I've been eating when my body tells me to. I'm trying to do that healthfully though. We went out yesterday and bought tons of fruit juices and V8 Splash. With twins, I'm supposed to take in way more vegetables than I can possibly eat. I'm also very tired and have been taking naps after work. I can't believe how early all this is happening. I do hear with twins that symptoms and showing are about 3 weeks ahead of a singleton.
I will get around to posting the banner I made for Christian, hopefully tomorrow. We started taking our baby belly shots and I'll be posting those occasionally as well.
Friday is when we get to see the heartbeats and it seems like an eternity from now. I'm going to take our camera with hopes of getting them on video. Everyone we know is on pins and needles waiting to see how many heartbeats we'll see.
